B i o g r a p h y

As the granddaughter of a pianist, I began taking piano lessons at the age of six. By age 12 I became the pianist for a weekly church service and a few years later I was selected to perform for an audience of 1,500 at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.

High school years were spent highly focused on developing my musical talents by accompanying choirs, playing for musicals, religious services, weddings, funerals, and events. I began teaching piano at the age of 15 and maintained over 40 students throughout the course of high school. I received several high awards through the IMEA competitions.

I remained driven about my future career as a pianist and attended Millikin University on an academic and music scholarship as a piano performance major.
During college, I also grew a strong interest in connecting with and serving others.  I began second major of Human Services and transitioned to a Music Degree with Piano Concentration.  I completed coursework in piano pedagogy, while continuing to play as a soloist and accompanist for choirs and singers while also employed as a part-time pianist at Von Maur. I received a Bachelors of Arts for Human Services and Music-Piano.

I went on to work for a counseling agency before beginning graduate school to earn a Masters of Social Work. I remain employed as a full-time licensed clinical social worker, I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Work, and I find great joy in my part-time work as a pianist.

I am a classically trained pianist with a love for alternative and pop music. I maintain a repertoire of classical, show tunes, golden oldies, jazz, rock, top 40 hits and am passionate about entertaining a crowd by providing music of the taste and genre preferred. For my own wedding I surprised my husband and guests by playing Ben Fold's The Luckiest.

I am truly thankful for the gift of music in my life! It would be my pleasure to play for your next event!
